The Flemish Ardennes are characterised by a unique landscape. The broad, rolling countryside and tranquillity make the region the perfect hiking destination in Flanders. After years of investing in an infrastructure of interconnected routes, the region also wanted to claim its singular position.

01/ Strategy

After planning and sign-posting 850 km of their hiking network, the Flemish Ardennes’ tourist office wanted to capitalise on the investment − and so we decided to give the campaign its own identity. ‘Het Wandelwalhalla’ was born, and we kicked off with a serious image boost. We added a strong content marketing approach and surrendered the brand to the power of influencers.

02/ Identity

A widely applicable campaign title, with a touch of heroism and a clever alliteration: ‘Het Wandelwalhalla’ is the perfect base for impressive stories, fine reports and a long list of shared visitor experiences. Elegant font and colourful imagery included.

03/ Essentials

So far, we’ve tripled the region’s social media audience to almost 22,000 followers, noted a negligible opt-out ratio (hurray for relevant content!), increased their e-mail database of subscribers by 50%, and designed small hiking maps that have been downloaded over 45,000 times.
